I am so confused

I have two rescued bearded dragon's, I have no idea on the age because the first one told me around 5 years old but he was little. Not over 13-15 Inches long. However once I got him home and put in a 40 gal breeder tank, with uvb light and under tank heater and basking light, he has started eating like crazy. You cannot fill him up. I give him 15 or so crickets a day and cut up a huge salad of turnip greens or collard greens with grated carrots and he will eat that as well. This one I was told was a male and it does have the two bumps and the pores, so I assume it is male.
Then about a month later I rescued another bearded dragon that is supposed to be female, I too put them together thinking they could just cohabitate, they did not fight, but the male has grabbed her by the back of the neck a couple of times. I have always moved him, however now it is the opposite the "female" is the aggressive one. She bites the back of the Males neck and wraps her legs around him, however I have never seen anything come out of her such as a penis, but she is on him all the time now. She has no bumps that are noticeable but she is large and fat, could the fat be hiding the fact that she is a he?
And the male stays right there with his tail up? I am so confused or at least my bd's are. I will be separating them but I don't think I will still know what sex they are.

Beardies are solitary, and need to be separated regardless for starters, looks like your going to do that so thats good.
Second, post pictures on here, like the ones on the front page of this website, and people can help figure out the sexes.
