i ordered the reptisun 10.0 for now i have the zilla 50uvb i am using wire hangers to hang the uvb hood best i could think of!!!! on the hit side i have 150 watt halo bulb and also have 150 wat che that i plan to use on cold days and nights also there is A uth on the basking side should i use or no???? open to all suggestions as i am new and learning as much as i can from here !!

What are the temps?
How are you measuring them?
How big is the tank?

Use the CHE if your temps drop below 65 at night.

Looks like a good layout.

thank you yeah i have the che for nighttime if it is gonna be a cold night i have a on the spot digital thermometer that i got from petco works great the tank is a 55 gallon. i also just changed the uvb to a under the cabinet fixture and to a repti-sun 10.0

here is an update i added the under the cabinet light fixture and got my repti sun 10.0 in

I would slide the repti-sun tube all the way to the hot side. That way he is getting the UVB while basking. He will get a gradient of UVB with plenty of shade on the cool side. :wink:

Just check your temps afterwards, and adjust the basking spot if needed..

i moved it after an hour i am getting 95-100 in the hot side fluctuates in different spots

From the picture, it looks like he is a little guy. You could use a warmer temp on the hot side. I would try and shoot for around 105-108 if possible. You are using a infra red gun...right???

I see. It looks bulkier than the picture, but still nice. Is it true to size, length (16-18")? How high??
