My bearded dragon is about 14 months and is male, i don't have his exact weight or length :/ Jimmy eats superworms as his main protein because after he turned 1 he stopped eating crickets. He gets greens and carrots every morning. He has recently been sleeping a lot more and not basking and seemed not interested in his food and sometimes he dosent want to eat his worms or greens. He doesnt poop every time but at least 3-5 times a week. i am nervous about his health because of his behavior. Can someone give me some tips or help.

Sounds like brumation -- check out the right side of screen under behavior and anatomy -- bearded dragon brumation and it will give you things that sounds like brumation--

I wasn’t sure if it was that though because he kinda just looks sick or drowsy. Jimmy always sun baths in the morning and is always sleeping when I get home at 4pm. Would brumeation really start as early as September?
It’s still rlly hot

It could be brumation. They start at different times of the year. My guy started slowing down off and on in July. It's still hot here too. The weather doesn't seem to be the trigger for brumation. Keep track of his weight so you can watch how it is trending. If he is brumating, his metabolism will slow down so his weight will remain fairly stable. They tend to act groggy like they are on sleeping pills when they are brumating.

Hello,

I totally agree. They all seem to go down at various times. His behavior definitely sounds like
he is slowing down, getting ready to bromate. He may not fully go down or go down for very
long either. At 14 months, he is technically old enough. Some even go in as early as 6 months,
too.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
