Hydrogen Peroxide?

So recently I posted a thread asking health questions (with a picture of my Mushu’s underside) and something that someone replied was to use betadine to wash the spot on his tail. I was wondering if hydrogen peroxide is safe to use instead? Betadine is expensive where we live, and the other “knock-off” brands have slightly different inactive ingredients. So basically two questions.
1: Is hydrogen peroxide safe to use? (Diluted of course)
2: Are the knock-off brands of betadine (CVS versions of Betadine) safe to use?

Have you checked Walmart ? Betadine is pretty cheap. Hydrogen peroxide watered down may be fine but not on an open wound, it can destroy good bacteria along with bad. Betadine or chlorhexedine would be better though.

I have the CVS version (Povidone Iodine) and it's just fine.

NO you dont dilute it i didnt at least the pharmacist told me if you add water to it hydrogen peroxide already has water in it so if you combine water with it it defeats its purpose breaks it mixture or whatever lol

Hello,

As suggested, I would really use the betadine, diluted instead of hydrogen peroxide. It can
damage the scales & the scales wont regenerate well. Betadine, diluted is very safe.
