hydrating and shedding

I have a rescue beardie that I got 3 weeks ago. He is still getting used to me but he is not comfortable with me picking him up.

I gave him a soak last week while I cleaned his tank, but he flaired his sides while in the tub and gave me the stink eye for the rest of the day.

I have a water dish in his tank that he drinks from, and soak his greens before feeding him so I know he is staying hydrated.

My question is, will misting him with water daily be a good substitute for the baths until he is comfortable with me handling him?

I am sorry. I think my question wasn't clear, will misting him help with shedding until he is comfortable with me to bath him 3x per week?

Misting might help soften the shed but keeping him hydrated will really help the most with a good shed. I think baths help cause they give time for the warm water to really soak in, I find most of the water sprayed on tends to just run off. If the shed isn't overly built up in a critical area (toes, tails, etc) it isn't super urgent.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
