Hi everyone I am new to this group so any help would be great.

We just put our bearded into a 40 gallon tank and the humidity shot up to 70%. I took out his water bowl. He is doing well in his new tank. The tank is in our living room with a fish tank that's 10 gallon and a fire-belly toad tank that is a 10 gallon. It was warm here in Maryland today so we had the windows open. He was in our bedroom in a 10 gallon and the humidity level never went past 40%.

I need some suggestions on what to do

Has the humidity stayed down after removing the water dish? If so, you can keep it out. You can provide regular warm baths outside of the tank and he may take a drink from that if needed. He will get most of his hydration from his food though so just keep his bugs hydrated & gutloaded and the salads fresh.

How are you measuring humidty? What sort of guage and where is it positioned? The measurements will be differnt depending on if the basking light is on, where in the tabk the guage I located and if the guage is calibrated and accurate.

The humidty in your enclosure should usually be at or below your room humidity. If a water dish is raising it a lot then you need more ventilation in the enclosure.
