Hi guys! I just got a new hygrometer(sp?) that tells me what the humidity level is in my beardie's tank. The humidity levels are very dry in my beardie Ivan's cage which I'm sure is good. But I was just wondering what percent/level it is best to be at? Simple question, but I think it's something I should know! :) If anybody could let me know that'd be great. :)

just dont add any water and make sure that nothing in the enclosure stays wet, and the dragon will be fine. normal humidity in your house is fine, and the heat lamps will decrease it inside to mimic the desert environment that dragons live in

Well I know that. There is no water and nothing wet ever in his tank except slightly damp veggies and fruits which don't stay in there for over twenty four hours. I was just wondering what the average is and if the tank humidity can be too low/dry.

I believe somewhere between 30% and no higher than 50%.
Of course at the higher end of that percentage if for extended periods may cause risk of URI.

Actually it can...If it's to low they dehydrate much quicker and have a much harder time shedding. I don't normally use a water dish because it tends to raise the humidity here, but I have one viv that's not that far from the wood burning stove this viv has recently had a water dish added. The area or the room with the wood burning stove has much less humidity(when there's a fire drying the air) than the rooms farther away.

Anyway the beardie that I recently added the water-dish to wasn't behaving right and wasn't shedding as normal(she's always received daily baths)...she's now up and running around diving in an out of her pool an about to shed.

I added a water bowl to Ivan's cage... But I really feel like it's only made it too humid. After I added his bowl it took him longer to shed the skin he was shedding. So I decided to take it back out today and just stick to giving him regular baths. I did take him to the vet recently just to check up and make sure he was okay and the vet said everything in his tank was perfect and so was he. I didn't mention the water bowl since it was a new addition and i forgot. So if she says it's fine without the water bowl then I will keep it that way.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
