Humidity issues

So, I'm having an issue with Humidity in my little Simon's cage. I have a night light for him, but I don't use it and the temps stay around 70 degrees at night. My problem is the humidity. When I wake up in the mornings it's all the way at like 50-60% humidity and takes forever to go down. I started taking his water dish out at night and only put it back when it gets back to 20%, which is the lowest it's been. Will this make him sick while he is sleeping? As soon as I turn his light off the humidity starts going up... What do I do?

Yes, it can make him stick. You can just leve the water dish out completely.If he's getting regular baths, he really doesn't need it anyway, it it will help to keep the humidity down.

The only reason I put the water dish in is because he likes to poop in it. I don't know why his humidity spikes when I turn the lights off. Should I just put the red night one on in a corner just to try and keep it low? I'm worried about him.

Take the dish out and give him baths daily, he'll learn to poop in the bath only.
If you take a nylon sock and fill it with oatmeal, tie it off, and hang it in the corner of your tank, it will absorb moisture and lower the humidity.

Thank you so much for the help! I never thought about putting oatmeal in there. I gave him a bath this morning since he hasn't poo'd in over a day and he looks full. He jumped out and started running... Don't think he liked it but he'll learn
