has anyone here ever used a humid hide for their beardie? i know other lizard species (leopard geckos, crested geckos, skinks) benefit from having a humid hide to aid shedding, so i was considering giving one to my beardie to see if it helped him shed more easily. i've noticed my dragon can take a very long time to shed certain areas, like 3 or more weeks. i also notice he spends more time in his hides when he is shedding, though they do not have any extra humidity from the rest of the enclosure currently. i give him baths, which help, but it seems possibly having a humid area he could access on his own would help along further. current humidity is on the dry side but within normal dragon parameters, about 25-30% on the warm side and 40-45% on the cool side.
i was thinking of taking one of his hides and putting it on top of a shallow tray on the cool side of his enclosure, with a layer of moistened sphagnum moss to raise up the humidity within the hide.
