How To Make Those Cool signature Lines?

Perhaps to some this may seem elementary but to me, I'm in elementary and need to know :study: . I have so many cute pics of my Penny but can't seem to get them small enough to use for my avatar. Also those really cool signature lines at the bottom of your posts..how do I make my own?

gonna need a program to do this..I use Photoshop CS4. search for a program called GIMP on google. You can use that and its free. Hope this helps.

Well gee guy's thank's! I'll see if the nice lady will help me too and I'll check out photo bucket also. I think photo shop is the pricey program but GIMP is free and free is all I can afford .
