Marley at the moment is going through a bad shed and to look at it it seems like theres 2 layers shedding at the same time. Its only on her head so far but her back is dark in the centre and her normal yellow round the edges.

Im bathing her daily but her eyes look so sore, shes scratched the one so much her eyelid is red almost like a lovebite and shes proper grumpy at the moment... i know this is normal but shes refusing to do anything except eat her livefood (suppose i should be grateful shes still eating).

Is there anything i can do to help this skin move as shes been like this for nearly a fortnight now and her back isn't starting to peel yet but you can just tell its trying to. I have got a couple pics on my phone that i can upload when i find the cable if that will help.

Why do these little poopers like to worry us so much?

Im constantly worried about mine too lol.

There's a product called zoo med shedding aid. Ive never used it myself and don't know what its like but it may be worth looking into . Just keep on with the daily baths and you can use a soft toothbrush too to help remove the shed. Sometimes it takes my beardie a while to shed, poor things

Cheers Cat.. I swear they're worse than kids sometimes. I'll have a look at that tomorrow, got a spare soft toothbrush round here somewhere for in the meantime. And discovered tonight Moe's logs have woodworm in them so off to find some bamboo roots in the morning so can kill two birds with one stone.

It never rains but it pours lol.

Well the nasty shed has finally gone on her head.. its still on her back BUT its moving finally! Can't believe its taking this long poor baby. I got the shedding aid and i think thats whats finally moved the 3 layers that were stuck on  only with daily baths then showers.
She always shedded perfectly.. the only thing thats changed is we got them both new Arcadia 12% UVs. Moe is fine though and they were bought from the same shop at the same time, in the same boxes and same batch numbers.

But i've now got a new problem with her :(

I've never seen those cracks in her skin before and its only since the retained shed came off 2 days ago... I'm putting a small dish of water in her viv for a few hours each day to raise the humidity as i've only just realised zero humidity is bad *hides in shame*. It doesn't seem to be bothering her at the moment but im scared they will open and weep if she gets much drier.

Will putting 100% Aloe gel on her when her lights go out help with this?

I really don't know with this one sorry. That black on her back doesn't look too good either. You might want to pm one of the moderators: they're usually good with health problems or repost this in the beardie ER section. Sorry i can't help, hope someone else can :(

Don't be sorry hun.. im grateful for the advice you've given me so far! Reptiles never even crossed my mind before my fella wanted these two so for me this is all a steep learning curve lol.

Never thought beardies could get eczema but thats the only thing i can liken it to from human kids. Fingers crossed someone has seen this before and knows how to rectify it.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
