How to handle a picky eater??

My younger dragon (2 yrs) Boggart has decided recently that he will not eat superworms, which I feed them every couple of days. He has not eaten live food in about two weeks and absolutely refuses to touch the worms, although he inhales his squash and greens. I cannot feed crickets or roaches (against my agreement with apartment owner since he is considered an exotic animal. Does anyone know how to deal with this or any other options that aren't hornworms (we tried these once, and he's TERRIFIED of them even when they're little. LOL)?

At 2 years I am not too sure I would worry too much about the feeders at this point. Dragon sometimes go on binges of either just salads or just feeders. I would ensure your salads are providing the best possible nutrition and also ensure to dust the salads 2-3 times a week with calcium and 1-2 times a week with multivitamins.

My big guy did the same thing a few months ago so what I did was got some baby food organic chicken turkey dinner and fed that through a syringe now he has started to consume kingworms again he eats them everyother day and is back to pooping every 2 days. When he doesnt eat his veggies I do the same thing green peas or squash with the syringe with some calcium mixed in with acidophiliz and he loves it.
Try that, it might work for you.

Thanks, I will try that. He has an appetite and eats his veggies like a champ. Just refuses to touch the worms.

Since your beardie is an adult, does he even need live worms ? I thought once mature, a dragons main dietary need is mainly vegetarian with a live supplement but no longer needed as it's staple. Am I wrong about that? It's great your dragon is a willing Veggi eater

Perfectly normal for a beardie around 2 years old to suddenly develop a "hatred" for live feeders, even ones they used to love.
Pookie had sworn off supers for nearly a year, no matter what I did to them. Then, in the last 3 months, he suddenly decided that supers were yummy again and had actually bobbed at me for not giving him any when I feed the girls.

Guess they're no different than you and me in the infamous "too much of a good thing is no longer a good thing" :mrgreen:

I also sense that my boy Levi is pulling back somehow from his repti's. So before he stages a full on hunger strike, I went ahead and ordered a "Big Eater" snack pack from Mulberry farms, around $55 with shipping included.
I think I got a jump on his need for something new when I had gotten him some butter worms a couple of weeks ago, gotta stay a few steps ahead of me!
