He just goes wherever he happens to be but NOT in the bath. In fact when I give him a bath he usually doesnt seem to care at all. He doesn't really splash around or move, and he never poops during bathtime. Sometimes he actually seems to wait till AFTER to do it!!

Anyone give me some tips?

Thanks!!

let me know if you figure this out, allie never poops in the bath, she always waits till i put her back in her tank, then craps on her backing spot. also, as soon as i clean up the tank, she craps on the freshly cleaned tile/furniture.

I've tried everything to get Pepper to go in the bath. Tried just letting her soak and i've tried stroking her belly to help the flow, but she hates baths.. so i know she'll never be comfortable enough to poo in there. I go through a lot of reptile carpets

At least she goes in one consistent spot outside her food bowl..

She also likes to start shedding as soon as i lay down a fresh carpet. :banghead:

I noticed my beardie likes the bath a little colder than I use to make it (it still wasn't hot) and I use a baby bath thermometer to get it in the right zone. I'd suggest making it a little colder, or warmer, while still being safe, and see if that helps. Pablo likes his bath a lot more now, and he poops in it almost every time, unless hes bruminating and not eating, but he still poops in the bath and not out around the house, or in his house.

Are you making the water deep enough? I've noticed that Lizzy poops at the deep end of the tub by the drain, and I think it is because the water is deeper there and maybe gets not only his belly but also his sides warm and then nature takes over. I've heard it should be shoulder deep on them. Lizzy definitely likes his water warm. In fact, I take my shower first so my shower gets the bottom of the tub warm and then he gets his shower while the tub is still warm. Hope this helps. I have him on a schedule also. He wakes up 45 min before me, I get up, he eats, I get a shower and then he gets his shower. It works like a charm. Maybe the timing is important. Once you get the cycle going, dont break it. I change his lights so that they come on and we start our routine later on the weekends, but the routine is still the same, withthe intervals the same.

Honestly, once you get him going in the tub, it is the greatest thing! He was easier to train than my dog. And he NEVER poops in the viv! I love the guy!

Mine doesn't poop in the bath either. He just sits there with his tail curled upward. He doesn't like pooping in his viv either, seems like he enjoys getting in a good run about my apartment first. I just need to watch for tail lifting when he's on my area rug

Loki won't poop unless the water pretty much holds her up and all she has to do is push..yea
she's a lazy beardie lol

I've never put frank in water that deep before!! I wasn't sure how deep to give him water during bathtime so I just did it the way I used to for my old iguana, just like up to his chest or whatever...of course Frank doesn't seem to care about water one way or another, although I did teach him to drink out of the spray bottle, he's completely indifferent to the bath!

Can he swim? Should I deepen the water significantly? He'll be ok right?

Mem use to wouldn't go in the bath, ever. I've always bathed him in the tub but started getting a bit lazy and doing it in the sink, well because of the sinks shape the water is a good bit deeper, I just keep a very close eye on him, he started going once being placed in the sink. So I thought I'd try out the deeper water thing with the tub, I put a rag and him on the shallow end where it is only up to the top of his legs, he swims down to the deep end and goes there, then goes back to the shallow end to chill. So I think it may be possible that some prefer the deeper water so they can just float and poo. Such lazy little things. :D

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
