Hi guys. I just got a beardie off craigslist. Shes only eating red pellets, but i want to get her off of them and onto greens. Whats the best way to do so? She has no interest at all in them. I got her to take one bite or romaine lettuce, but then she got mad and ran to her basking spot. Im not sure on her age, but the original owner said they got her in April from Petco. Shes about 16-17inches long roughly. Thanks!

Pellets are not any good for a diet she needs fresh salads every day and given how old she is now she may not eat them -- they need to be started on salads right away as babies but we will give it a shot- I want you to order some BSFL and some super worms and other worms like horn or butter worms - the only place for butter worms is this website
www.mulberryfarms.com they also have nice horn worms as well but they are spendy on shipping but here are some other websites you can shop they do not send super worms w/ food or in a cup
www.dubiaroaches.com you need to get her on a staple feeder and dubias are great -- they also have BSFL also known as nutri grubs and they have super worms as well along w/ horn worms their worms come w/ food in cups --
www.reptilianarts.com -- great place for silk worms - the cupped come w/ food they also sell dubias and super worms but the worms do not come in a cup w/ food
www.coastalsilkworms.com two shippers west coast and east coast - great staple feeder as well
www.aafeeder.com they they have a bundle package
www.symptonbsf.com they have nice BSFL
You will need a ceramic dish or glass one that insects/ worms cant get out of like this https://www.amazon.com/MACGOAL-Reptile-Ceramic-Leopard-Bearded/dp/B084VJJWTV?pf_rd_r=R0HNPKXJ2ZARWAT5MPAH&pf_rd_p=c5b6893a-24f2-4a59-9d4b-aff5065c90ec&pd_rd_r=0173f98f-f39b-4d44-9f76-6ae4d88c419b&pd_rd_w=AuGQB&pd_rd_wg=tLkwE&ref_=pd_gw_ci_mcx_mr_hp_d
nutrition website ignore the kale thing its a great staple feeder

When you get the worms add them to the top of the salads in front of her the movement will get her attention -- use as many BSFL / nutri grubs as you want do not dust them they are calcium enriched- 1-3 super worms and a horn worm -- the horn worms grow really fast so dont order a large amount you will need to feed one a day they are a great hydrating worm - w/ her eating those pellets I am sure they are drying her out so I would offer her water either by dripping on her nose or by bath or misting her in the tank -- I would feed her the salads first thing in the morning BEFORE the staple feeder - dubias work great you can add them to the salad bowl as well - you can keep dubias in a 10 gallon tank or tote feed dubia food and carrots / squash for hydration -- do not feed the dragon carrots as well too much Vit A--- carrots are a great hydrating food -- try this and see if it works but her diet does need to change

Thank you so much for the information! I have some dubia roaches (theyre very small, i originally bought them for my baby leopard gecko). Ill try adding them to her salad bowl in the mornings. Hopefully that will work :)

The pellets she currently is on has freeze dried bugs. She tends to eat those before eating the live ones. Should i fully stop feeding those to her? Or should i just finish off the container (about 1/4 of it left).

Shes pretty good at drinking water daily. Every morning she lays in her water dish and drinks

This is what she looks like (shes in a 40gallon tank until i can build her a bigger one):

I'd say she's about 8 months-- if she's eating those pellets add some on top of the salads along w/ the freeze dried stuff- that stuff is not very healthy--- she needs to have the insects dusted w/ calcium D 3 5 x per week once per feeding and vitamins w/ beta carotene 2 x per week once per feeding-- try dusting those dubias but she's big enough to eat a bigger medium insects-

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
