How to calm a horny male

Hey everyone,

First some info, I have 2 adult beardies, one male and one female. The female is mine so her tank is upstairs in my room. The male is technically my little sister's (though I take care of him) so his tank is downstairs.

About 3 weeks ago they both woke up from a semi-heavy brumation. Ever since, the male will barely eat. He has lost about 20g so far, though he started out at 650g so I'm not that worried. He is a big boy,not fat just huge.

Along with his lack of appetite, he spends all day glass dancing with a black beard. He has injured his knee from doing this so much. Just some scales scraped off nothing serious.

There seems to be only 2 things that calm him down, cuddle time with my mom, and baths. I have been bathing him every day and he absolutely loves it. His beard gets bright yellow and he swims around having a ball. The problem is as soon as I put him back he starts up again.

Are there any other things I can try to calm him down? How long does it typically take after brumation for his testosterone levels to drop back to normal levels? I should clarify, this was their first brumation. They are about 14 months old now.

Hi. Have a male and female in separate enclosures. They are out of control until August. My female will try to get into my males enclosure when she's sitting in my husbands lap. She will literally jump to try to get in. They bob constantly and he has a blck beard all the time. He has gout and is normally lazy and moves like an old man until spring and summer. He actually can move pretty fast when he thinks he can get to my female.

Not much you can do about his rampaging overdose of hormones. You are in for a torrid month or two.

Let him out to run about , least he'll burn off some of that energy and get some of the lust out of his system.
