How Tame Is Your Beardie?

For being a juvenile (approximately 6 months old) who I suspect didn't get much handling before I took him in Fuego is fairly tame.

He lets me pick him up with minimal struggling (as long as I don't surprise him), doesn't black beard at me (he does black beard at the vet though), but he's more interested in exploring than snuggling at this age though he does love being wrapped burrito style in a towel before bed and relaxing that way with me.

Hoping that he turns into a chill guy once he's an adult but only time will tell!

Norris has never tried to bite or black beard at me or even puff up. He did once gape at me. I'm not sure if it was from heat or just as a reminder that he was shedding and grouchy... I've had him since he was a little squiggle and he is handled nearly daily. He has almost been with us for a full year. 8)

It helps that one of the many tricks in a bearded dragon's arsenal for dealing with strange things is to freeze. This gives our pets a chance to look things over without running around like mad and getting all worked up over nothing. Just another reason bearded dragons are packed with awesomeness!

My names Ryan and I just got my first bearded dragon. I used to own some leapord geckos but have switched to beardeds. Not to sure how old mine is but if I had to guess possibly 3-4 months, and I thought he was going to be a pain to tame and once I got over the black beard thing and I even let him bite me so there was no more fear of that. But yesterday was the first time handling(haven't hel and just chills outd since I put him in a new enclosure/aka stress). But he did perfectly fine and once he was completely in my palm I had no problems. He sat there and relaxed and mine really calms down when I rub his head or give him a small spray of water. And he sleeps every night up against the glass and just chills out but its funny because when his lights go out,he is knocked out

Blaze is very tame, she was from the beginning I can tell that fresnowitte handled her a lot.
She can be handled by anybody and does not have bad reactions.

Yea my leapord geckos must have been treated badly wherever they came from because they were extremely mean and would bite at you no matter what.it got to the point where one ended up having salominila and the other I took back

Miss is extremely tame. She's been in 3 kindergarten classrooms, including my own, a 2nd grade classroom, & a summer school classroom. I bring her in for reptile education. She lets all the children run their finger down her back, sits on my shoulder through that lesson as well as an additional 60 mins after. When I take her to petsmart she allows others to stroke her head & back. I even had one lady who was afraid of beardies petting her before she left the store. Miss just has that way about her...people just are drawn to her.
my son recently bought a beardie that is just over a month old (Remey) & he's just as lovable. He'll sit near you & just look up at you like he's happy as ever just to be loved...really a sweet boy :)

Casper they make such great assistance in exposing children to reptiles...do they not? Who can not love a beardie? :D
Zak-n-Wheezie have been in more classrooms than I can count they also are very good in working with handicapped children...because it's okay to be different. An I can not tell you how many children have taught their parents some things about reptiles due to these classroom visits...it awesome.... I bet your students just love when you take Miss to school.

Trey is extremely tame. I can take him anywhere with me, even the park

Rafael on the other hand was neglected his entire life and barely ever handled so he's a bit of a handful sometimes. But I think he's slowly warming up to me

Vash goes to the bathroom in his bath as well.
Great guy...never eats his greens -_-
but hey...beggers can't be choosers when
it comes to a great friend xD
I love Trey in the swing, that's great you
can take him anywhere.
I'm still working on that, he sees the car he goes
nuts. He does calm down as soon as he gets to the
pet store and let people pet his head.

Rosie is pretty tame although he is a very hormonal male. He is always running around black bearding and bobbing his head. He will sit on the widow sill of the car when I am driving, he is starting to let me hold him ore and anyone would be able to come over and pet him. Since I lost my female and he cannot see her anymore he seems to be calming a little. My new baby beardie from dave's dragons was tame from the start. The whole two hour ride home he sat on my hand. I can pick him up and he never runds, I also hand feed him greens since this is the only way he will take them. He sits on my shirt while I prepare dinner but if sit he is very curious and wants to explore. This is what I think sets beardiea apart fromany other reptile they are for the most part so comfortable with people. I have had alot of other reptiles and they are by far the easiest and the most pleasurable to work with.

I have five adult males, 4 yrs old up to 9 yrs old. The only time I've been bitten is when my finger was mistaken for food  They're all tame, have been from day 1 and they're all snugglers. If it wasn't for the fact that they'd try to kill each other, I'd always have 5 beardies snuggling on me a good part of the weekend when I'm home. I'm glad they're all like that :D :D :D

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
