how sound do they sleep?

Just got a small little guy yesterday.. seems like he/she is sleeping great. just after all the lights go out it picks a spot and stays there till lights on in the morning. last night on the basking log and tonight as of an hour ago on the edge of its water dish lol strange things! im sure it will have a different location every night to camp out. this is normal? or one spot usually always?

anyways , are they good sleepers? could I make a moderate amount of noise and wont bother it? like a movie or medium music?

They are pretty hard sleepers and will often find some strange places to lay their head for the night.
However if there is light or too much noise you can disturb their sleeping patterns and this may be best to keep to a minimal. A dragon that doesn't get adequate sleep can become groggy and possible loss of appetite. Perhaps you can consider placing a towel or something else to help shroud the enclosure at night. :wink:

My beardie was never bothered by noise when it was "lights out" and time for her to sleep. She was however kept awake by bright lights.

What she usually does is crawl into her half hollowed out log at bedtime. All I see is her tail sticking out, and she seems to be a pretty heavy sleeper.

Maybe you could provide a hiding place like that for her if she wants to get away from any lights. It depends on what room of the house you keep her in. Loki's vivarium is in the living room. She's pretty much the center of everything all the times. What I do (so she can get some rest is I am up late at night) is cover her tank with poster board so she is able to sleep. I've done this since she was baby, so I think she is just conditioned to fall asleep this way though.

Mine is still 3 hours later straddling the water dish lol cant be too comfortable!!!

I guess they dont have a special place to call bed each night. I had a basalisk years back and at night it always stuck high up in the corner in the leaves or such.

I love this guy so far... just got it yesterday and I love it's company so much.

You can make a special place for her if you want. When my adult was a baby, I let her sleep with a tiny wash cloth. It became her "spot". I'd rub it on my chest first for her to get used to my scent. This also helped her get used to me handling her as she grew older.

Before I read the posts I had my answer to you in my head (beardednoob's post changed this)- that they are good sleepers and I have quite a few pictures of funny sleeping poses - One of my boys is right next to the TV and I will often watch TV for 5+ hours after he's in bed - But reading Beardednoob's post about them getting groggy and losing appetite describes my baby next to the TV....

Both of my boys are light sensitive for sure though.
