How soon is it okay to bring your dragon along on trips?

I'm getting a Beardy on Saturday from a show. I'm very excited and ready to have a new dragon in the apartment.

I also have an Interpreter's Conference at the end of the month, (Sept. 25-27). I can easily have my girlfriend look after the dragon while I'm out of town, but I want to bring him with me, but don't want to overly stress him out. Have any of you had a dragon become confortable with their new surroundings and you fast enough to have them okay with travel within a couple of weeks, or should I leave him at home for at least this trip?

If you are adopting a baby I would say leave it at home, just because they are so jumpy and if they get out in the hotel room you will have a VERY hard time finding it. An adult may be a different story. They spend most of their day doing an impression of a paper weight and might enjoy hanging outside with you at the hotel pool. I know mine does!

True. Thanks for the input. By the way, anyone have any good/bad reviews on Beardy leashes? I see the ones in Petco and they seem safe enough...the ones that you slide the front legs through the holes and it tightens behind the back...any bad words about these. I'm sure I'm going to quickly become one of those people who brings their beardy everywhere.

Leashes on baby beardies are pointless. They are so small and will not sit still long enough for you to get it on. All you will end up with are scratches and a headache. If you get a baby you will want to wait for a few months or until they are about 10-12". I used to take Scorch places on a leash because I just wanted to be safe. Now that she is older the only time I do it is if I want to take her somewhere that she could be put on the ground like a beach. Just be careful not to over tighten.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
