how often should a bearded dragon shed?

I am just wondering how often a bearded dragon should shed. Mine just shed about a week ago he is only like 3 or 4 months old but his tail is already very pale so I think he is getting ready to shed again. Do they shed this often or could his tail be pale for another reason?

At that age, they shed alllll the time. I got Max at 3 months, old, and I think besides a week here or there, some part of his body was constantly in shed for the first 3 months I had him.

Okay thanks. It was probably a dumb question but this is my first bearded dragon, so I am still learning about them. I just got him last month and he's almost double in size since I have had him he's getting so big so fast.

Yup, not a dumb question There's no such thing as too much growing. I bet he's eating you out of house and home! :lol:

Haha yea. I would suggest looking for a healthier green than cabbage though - it's just low on nutrients. Collard, mustard, dandelion, and turnip greens are all much better!

Okay I will I just read on one website that it was good for him. Thanks for the info he eats more green beans then anything he seems to love them I try to feed him the pellet food but he dosen't eat it Does he need it? Is there a better way to get him to eat it?

No, he doesn't need pellets, and most dragons will never touch it.

okay I will use that website now then. I was using this one http://www.thebeardeddragon.org/bearded-dragon-faq.php. Okay I guess I will just get rid of the pellets then He really likes watermelon Iso every few days I give him alittle bit is that okay?

I would limit it to once or twice a week because of the high sugar, but it sure is good for hydration!

I Would say its only like twice a week het gets it in a small amount. I will be getting different greens other then cabbage thanks for the info.
