Hello, guys, i started this thread to get a feel from you guys to see how often your beardies will have a bowel movement? My Vet who's a reptile expert, said they can go up to 14 days with no Bowel Movements and be perfectly healthy, but this topic worries me a lot...
Ace, my beardie, is about a year old. he used to have bowel movements every day, but as he grew older his bowel movements spread further apart, now he has been having bowel movements anywhere from every 5 days, to a every week and a half. is this normal for them?
i feed him a salad that consists of, Collard Greens, Mustard Greens and Squash dusted with calcium powder every day, sometimes i'll throw in carrots, or some fruits, like raspberries, blueberries, blackberries, pears, or apples. As for live food he will eat anywhere from 15 to 20 Pheonix Worms per day, once a week i will dust the Pheonix worms with Multi-Vitamin. i used to feed him crickets, but around the time his bowel movement started spreading further apart, i decided to make the change to these as a staple since Pheonix Worms (aka ReptiWorms) are so much healthier.
his tank set up is as follows: a 40 gal tank, Slate Tile substrate, reptisun 10.0 uvb, 100w basking lamp with a dimmer, a coiled cool bulb just for lighting, his basking spot goes up to 107 degrees, and his cool side is around 79 degrees, his humidity is at about 25-30 percent. i bathe him 2 to 4 times a week depending on how he poops. am i doing anything wrong?. is this normal bowel movement behavior for them? any info will help.
SO GO AHEAD AND POST YOUR ANSWERS, LET EVERYONE AND MYSELF KNOW HOW OFTEN YOUR BEARDED DRAGON HAS A BOWEL MOVEMENT.
THANK YOU!!!
