I got my new bearded dragon a few days ago. He is 3 months old.. I have been researching feeding and stuff for the past few days...I'm trying to get used to and see my bearded eating habits...I mean I guess there isn't a specific number as all beardies are different but as a rough estimate how much do your juveniles eat per day? I was thinking about getting a kricket keeper also, is it worth it? And how long do the crickets last in there? obviously with food for them too..I really want to make sure I'm getting it right and I don't want him hungry :( thank you :)

At that age Pepper was eating about 1/8-1/4 cup of little roaches. I never bothered to count. A cricket keeper is well worth it, but you may want to consider a larger tub and ordering bulk crickets for a few months. You can make a big Rubbermaid tub into a cricket bin (like the pet store does).

Aww pepper is a nice name! Yeah that's what I was thinking of doing, I just don't wanna be going to the shop every few days, how long roughly do crickets last in a cricket keeper?

I've never had good luck keeping crickets very long. There are a few folks on here who do very well and some who even breed them. Little bitty ones for a little dragon should live a few weeks at least, and hopefully get eaten up before they out grow your dragon rather than die. If you get bulk it's not a bad idea to get slightly smaller than you need to make sure they don't grow to fast.

Hopefully someone with some keeping tips comes along.

I had good luck keeping crickets in a 20g tank with a mesh top. They lived in cardboard tubes and had a food dish (grain based feed) and a water dish (water gel crystals) as well as some extra veggies now and then. I ordered them 1000 at a time (ordering them small is a good idea) and they lasted around a month or so. At peak Cooper went through about 25 a day or so. I've heard of others eating quite a bit more than that though.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
