Hi, im wondering about what to do about my beardie and crickets. ive only had him for about 2 weeks, and he's about a month and a half old. he's been eating ALOT more recently, today he had his entire package of 36 crickets, im out now. i was wondering if i should get a ton at the store, and give them food? because as it is, i would have to go to the store nearly every other day. what did you do when yours are at this stage, but its not worth breeding crickets?

Buy a ten gallon tank and screen lid. Get some cricket food and drink from the pet store cut up some pieces of potato in about 8 pieces or so then order them buy the box of 1000 from the internet. Its a lot of crickets but at 10-12 cents a piece in the pet store I just cant afford to pay 10 dollars for 100 crickets when I can get 1000 for 27 shipped in the next day.

I buy mines online then but the box in the freezer for 4+ hours. Ive got my beardy trained to eat frozen bugs :) works good cause you dont have to worry about them going bad

I go to my local "shady" pet shop. You know the ones im talking about, the pet shop that you would never buy a pet from because it just seems evil. Sometimes you can work something out with them to buy a box of crickets(1k). I get mine for $20 before tax. I have them in a large storage bin($5) from walmart with a hole cut in the top and screen added(metal only). I then put a layer of package tape around 3/4 the way up. I haven't had any escapes. Hope this helps.

You can try LLLREPTILE.COM or MULBERRYFARM.COM.

Although,.. persnoally i HATE HATE HATE crickets. Make wayyy too much noise and STINKY !!! No matter how hard I tried.. they all would die within a few days. I've ordered 500 crickets before.. and lets just say only about 200 were eaten since the rest died. I had proper food, heating, water for them.. and they still died. I've upgraded to supers and just now ordered some silkies, phoenix and butterworms online. I still buy crickets OCCASIONALLY.. but I hate it.
I know how you feel on going to the store every other day. To avoid them from dying... I found my self going EVERY DAY after work to get some crix.. and trust me it's a pain in the AAAAAAA****** !!!!

I feed my crickets (and soon to be my dubias) my dragons salad from the day before. I have a feeding bowel in the aquarium that I just dump it into. I will get my dragon to eat his veggies one way or another.I buy a few days worth at a time and they need to eat something. I am not giving a day old salad to my dragon, so its going to get thrown out anyway. The crickets eat the vegtables and make themselves nice and healthy for him.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
