How much 'play time' do they need?

Hi everybody! I wanted to put up a post and let you know that Leyla is doing awesome. However, I did have one question. About every night, I'll take Leyla out of her viv for a while, and let her sit on me or roam (I keep track of her) while I'm doing my homework or watching tv, maybe even talking to you guys. Anyway, many nights, after I put her back in her viv, I'll hear her running around glass surfing, so I'll take her back out to try and use up some of that energy. I was just wondering how much 'playtime' or how much time you guys give your beardies outside of their vivs. Right now she's snuggling into my fluffy sweatshirt on my left arm - I think she's ready for bed!

I keep my baby zora with me most of the day. She gets to run around the house to and if she wants back in her house she climbs up the ramp into it. She also runs around with me to stores and dr. apt. Not to all apt. mind you but most I can take her I dont let her down and the drs and nurses just love her

I'd love to be able to take Leyla around that much, but she's barely 6 inches long, so she's still pretty fragile, and she'd be easy to lose. Plus, I'm usually either at school or work, so neither of those are really an option. So I just let her out as soon as I get home. Being as small as she is, I always have to keep an eye on her..

yeah at that age they are pretty active and like to run around.

do you have thing in her viv besides a basking item?

I put a box in the viv with Tasty Treat and she would spend a good portion of the day hoping in and out of it. i've had to remove it since she is now too big to fit in it.
but it kept her pretty entertained while i was away. (just make sure it isn't tall enough that they can jump to the top and climb out of the viv.)

for the amount of time out, just make sure they get enough time under their lights to absorb UVB and bask to digest (which shouldn't be an issue if you are in school most of the day). i let them out to play and put them back in once they start to feel cold.
just don't let them get used to the idea of coming out when they demand it. you don't want an overly spoiled dragon on your hands (which might be unavoidable anyway).

Maybe I'll try your box idea. I've got a couple cardboard boxes laying around that I could put in there. I've got a log for her to climb around on as well as a large watering dish she could climb on. I had a hide in there but it never got used so I took it out, and last night I put one of my shirts in there for her to sleep with.
