Hi!

We are about set to get our new little family member and I have a Wine Cooler to store the Reptiworms I will be ordering.

Since we're brand new to this and will be getting a baby, how many of the Reptiworms do you think we should order?

We were going to order 1500 of the Extra Small ones. Would that work or is that too many for the first round? Thoughts?

Thanks!

Might be too many. My beardie wasn't interested in them at all, loves his crickets and dubia but not so much on the phoenix worms. I was bummed since they're a better feeder. I ordered 250 I think - luckily I've got a rescue Leopard Gecko who devours them.

I'll be ordering my first load of reptiworms also. If I were you, I'd order around 500. Enough to last you a while, but not too much just incase you ended up not liking them. Switch around feeders (crickets, dubias, reptiworms) until you find the right ones for your little one. I'll be ordering 500 aswell! Also, reptiworms are very small. After a few months be sure not to keep feeding the small worms or your dragon's food bill will be higher than yours!

700 small worked out well for me when ours was young. Even the large I order now stay alive for a month in my basement which is usually 64-68 degrees in summer and a little cooler in winter.

Thanks for all the input all!

So 700 Small (rather than extra small?) would be good for a baby Beardie to give it a go?

Did 700 extra small once. More work then I care for. You will probably move up a size every couple weeks or so. We didn't have a baby. Probably 4-6 weeks old when we got him.

I would start with a few hundred and see how much he eats then the next order, order enough for a month or so thats what I do and then as he grows give him more. I feed phoenix worms and they are pretty much the same thing as reptiworms and I have 2 beardies they eat about 20 a day so I order the zoo cup of 1000+ last about 25 days.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
