(If this needs to go in Off Topic, I apologize, mods. Was debating the two. And I'm sure there's been a topic like this before, but not in my time - if there's one still active that I've missed, please point it out and get rid of this one! :wink: I'm not proud.)

Curiosity poking me tonight - wondering

1. How many beardies do you have?

2. How long have you owned them?

3. What other pets do you have?

4. What other pets would you like, if money/time were not an issue?

For me:

1. Just one. All I can handle for now, and probably for quite some time! But she's so unbelievably fun, and an amazing hobby. The husband had been encouraging me to find one (a hobby, not a beardie!) - don't think he thought it would involve cleaning roach containers and picking up maggots barehanded! :laughing6:

2. :lol: All of a month and a half. Wave came to me from Yellow Room Reptiles on 4/5. She was born 1/24/11.

3. We have a dog, a Saluki/greyhound mix, named Jamie. She's seven years old; we adopted her when she was 2.5 - she's super-smart, highly opinionated/stubborn, and constantly gets double-takes on the street because people can't figure out what she's a mix of! We also have a rat, who is usually called "Rat Rat" these days. We had two others with her, one of whom was identical to her, so while they had names picked out, they eventually became White Rat, Black Rat, and Black Rat. And when her cagemates died, this one became Rat Rat! :lol: And we have a daughter who will be 15 months old on 5/26, who is becoming less and less like a pet, but still requires more supervision than anything else, so she counts!

4. I've been promised I can finally have dart frogs when I finish my premed requirements. I want a pair of D. azureus desperately. Will take a few years, but I'll get them eventually. I would love to be able to go back to taking in retired racing greyhounds, would like at some point to have a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and a full-blooded Saluki, and have vague hopes of one day maybe having an Irish wolfhound. I love the look and apparent personality of tegus, but it will be some years before I can even consider that. One day, we hope to design our own house, and my "wing" (yeah, right) is going to revolve around my books and my animals! (Dreaming of having the frogs, maybe that tegu, more dragons, more rats, hopefully a chinchilla, Guinea pigs...)

1. How many beardies do you have?

I have 2 beardies:
Striker is 1 year and 4 months old he is a true sandfire german giant born January 12 2010, bought him from a wonderful breeder friend of mine He is 390 grams and 21 inches long and growing in to his body has a great personality.

Athena is 11 months old born June 12 she is a true sandfire x bred morph orange red she is from West Coast dragons on Vancouver island. She is 340 grams and is 17 inches long she is wonderful and chunky loves to eat.

They both live in their own 72 gallon Atasuki vivs that are currently getting redecorated.

2. How long have you owned them?

I have had Striker for 1 year and 2 months I got him when he was 2 months old. Athena I have had for 10 months

3. What other pets do you have?

5 year old Chihuahua named Beans, 2 leo geckos named Rusher and Cloud, 1year and 4 month old dwarf winter hamster named Nibblet,16 tropical fish, 2 bristle nose algie eaters and 5 inch catfish named Keanu, 12 inch clown loach named Clide and 6 inch clown loach named Bonny

4. What other pets would you like, if money/time were not an issue?

Well neither is an issue so I would get another beardie if I could sneak one into the house. Hubby is the issue he said I cant have anymore pets right now but holidays are coming up and well so is the reptile show here in BC so when he gets back there might be a new member to the house hold lol.

1. How many beardies do you have?
5 beardies now. 3 males (Oscar, Rocko, and Jericho) and 2 females (Jenny and Goldeneye)

2. How long have you owned them?
6 months. Yeeeeeeeeaaa I took to them pretty quickly.

3. What other pets do you have?
I have a red eared slider turtle and a boston terrier. My wife made me rehome my red tail boa so that I could get beardies, and a ball python before that.

4. What other pets would you like, if money/time were not an issue?
More beardies and I'd love a couple of monitor lizards.

1. How many beardies do you have?

Well I started out with one...Krayt,He was a sick beardie and we thought that getting him a buddy for him Toruk to show him how to each would help. Well he passed away about a month after we got our second one so how we are back to one.

2. How long have you owned them?

I have owned Toruk for 6 months and he is 7 months old.

3. What other pets do you have?

I have two Russian Tortoises. Meeko and Kira were my first two pets and they are characters and awesome to have around. Although Toruk does not want anything to do with them lol.

4. What other pets would you like, if money/time were not an issue?

I would love to get a Husky if I had more room in the house and the money. As for another reptile my next one when I move is a Savannah Monitor! I can't wait!

Currently at 3.

2. How long have you owned them?
Bought my first in October 2010, acquired the rest since then. The newest addition came several days after Easter.

3. What other pets do you have?
1 Moroccan Uromastyx
1 Ball Python
1 Rabbit
1 Chocolate Labrador

4. What other pets would you like, if money/time were not an issue?
Top of the list: Green Tree Monitor. What a beautiful animal! A Tegu or Iguana would be nice someday too. I also plan to purchase another Uromastyx, but this time I plan on buying an Egyptian; I want a big pet. Finally, I'll be getting another Beardie eventually, but with the intention of breeding it.

1. How many beardies do you have?3- Shep was my first, Princess was my 2nd and Spirit was my 3rd.

2. How long have you owned them? I've had Shep for almost a yr, Princess since Jan and Spirit since Valentine's Day.

3. What other pets do you have? We have a ball python who is almost 4 yrs old. We have a beta who is a few months old. We also have 6 cats, Tigger, Elita, Angel, Demon, Simba, and baby.

4. What other pets would you like, if money/time were not an issue? I would love to have a dragon from a breeder. I have requested this for my bday in August. I have found a few different breeds that I am in love with but honestly the color is not what makes the dragon so I guess it's not too important. I am totally in love with bearded dragons. They are a lot of work yes but they are so much fun and I like taking care of them as I would my own children. My goal is to build each of my dragons a 3ft long by 4 ft wide by 18 inches tall viv and after I get my current dragons in their homemade vivs, I will build and extra one for when I find another dragon that I want. I would also love to have a husky but that will happen after I buy my house in the country.

Other pets: 1. 2 1/2 chihuahua Sassy she was a bday gift but she loves my hubby more! A sulcata tort. 7 yrs old had him since he was 2-3 in.
I would like a bright orange beardie someday :lol: I miss having a cat! I had my baby for 12 yrs and that was 7 yrs ago! A big dig someday like a lab!
And of course my human kids! 8 yr old daughter and 6 yr old son

2 brindle colored boxers, Guinness and Bailey. Though we might be going down to just Guinness soon since Bailey has some major dog-aggression issues I just don't have the energy to deal with anymore

4. What other pets would you like, if money/time were not an issue?
I would really like a sphinx cat (the hairless ones) sometime in the future once we don't have dogs anymore. Definitely another beardie of course but I don't think my husband will budge on that :lol: Maybe an iguana too, it would be really cool to have a *big* lizard, but I know full grown ones basically need a viv nearly the size of a room :shock:

2. How long have you owned them? Girl since january (shes about 5 months) and boy since february (hes just about 2 years)

What other pets do you have? 3 firebellied toads, 4 goldfish, 2 dogs (springer/lab mix, and a golden retriever), 3 cats (Winnie 11 years, tigger 4 years and hippo 4 years), a leopard gecko that is 4 years old her name is nala, and currently temporarily a box turtle that wandered into our driveway and is enjoying some spoiling and who will be let go shortly! lol!

4. What other pets would you like, if money/time were not an issue? if I had endless money and space i would totally have another golden retriever, no more cats, a great big fish tank with saltwater, and some colorful beardies....all my lizards would have those cool sliding opening cages and have their very own room....ahhhh to dream huh? Plus if money were no object we would have a motorhome to travel that would have cages built in as well so that they would all go with us!!! yeah keep dreaming.


and I can't forget the human pets....i mean kids....Madalynn (maddy) who is 5 going on 15 and Jacob who is 7. The scaly pets have all been thanks to his obsession with reptiles and stuff like that and a mommy who thinks its very cool! Furbabies....well honestly I could do without them some times! Especially the cats and one dog!!!! lol sounds evil but its enough to take care of everything else without the fur and worrying about the cats stalking the lizards and blah blah blah! anyone want a blacklab springer mix (who unfortunately suffers with seizures) ...nah really wouldn't ever give him away poor dog!

1. I just have Dudley, a 3 yr. old male. One is enough for me, LOL.

2. I've been enslaved by beardies for approximately 1 year, 9 months, and 5 days.

3. My other babies include an 11 year old Shih-Tzu named Chuey, a 7 1/2 year old rabbit named Smudge, an African clawed frog named Squishy, and 6 hermit crabs. My sister has a 3 year old guinea pig named Tilly, and a hamster named Theodore.

4. Some day I want a French Bulldog and a Pit bull, and I think I'll always have rabbits and beardies. I'd LOVE a blue tongue skink, a leeches gecko, and a Russian tortoise for reptiles. A tegu would be awesome, but realistically I don't think I'd ever get one. If I had the space, I'd have chickens and horses too!
Oh, and possibly a parrotlet. They are so cute and tiny, and I miss having a bird.
