How many Dubia Roaches to order?

I am switching from crickets to Dubia Roaches for my bearded dragon. He is about 2 months old and his eyes are 1/2 inch apart, so I am ordering 3/8 inch ones to be safe. Anyways, he eats about 20 of the 1/2 crickets a day, so how many Dubia's should I order a week. I am planning on ordering 50 a week, but is that enough?

Are you planning to start a colony? Or just order them regularly and feed them off? Their appetites fluctuate so it's hard to say exactly how many will be needed. It may take a bit of trial and error. If he's eating 20 crickets a day you may want to order 100-150 small roaches and see how that goes. Keep in mind that the roaches are much hardier than crickets and if you have some extra at the end of the week they will be able to survive easily in a bug enclosure or rubbermaid bin with good ventilation and some fresh veges to munch on.

I am planning on ordering regularly, maybe 100 mediums every 2 weeks or something like that. I don't want to start a colony because then I will have a bunch of adult roaches I won't use until he's older. Right now, I feed him 10 medium crickets-twice a day along with having a salad in his cage all day. I am planning on switching the crickets with 3-4 medium roaches twice a day because that's how many I've heard other people say their Juvenile beardies eat.

The number will fluctuate. Give him all he wants until he loses interest within a 5-10 minute window a couple of times per day.

My Beardie is close in age. A little bigger than 8 inches and 30+ grams. He eats the small 3/8 Dubia in numbers ranging from 25-50 a day depending on his particulars—it’s insane. ABdragons has good deals on bugs and is cheaper on Amazon than their website. Orders generally take a week to arrive. I wouldn’t get anything less than 500 at a time because sometimes there are shipping delays. I also believe they offer discounts for subscription type orders.

Dubideli was also pretty cool to deal with.

Hey guys I'm selling my colony of dubias I bought over a year ago since I'm leaving to college out of state and I was hoping someone would be interested. When I originally bought them there were only about 10 adults and 100 nymph but now I roughly estimate that there are about 80 -150 adults and over 600 nymph please message me if interested
