One male and one female usually works.

This really depends on how many you want to sell. If you want to sell 1,000 a month you will need a different number than if you want to sell 10,000 a month.

You left your question way to open ended. First off for an established colony it depends on how many and types of mouths you have to feed. I have 2 sub adult beardies, 7 adult and a juvenile leopard geckos, and juvenile water dragon and the 320 adult female and 56 adult male keep up with production for all of them. there are a few left over every month to sell at the local pet shop, but no extra adult to sell at this level.

To keep up with demand as a seller you will need a lot of adult females to keep up with customers. That is why many of the top sellers are out of stock lately!

lol, thats crazy tom.... as to how many dragons i have, it is 4, 3 subadults and one baby for now, but i would like to sell at some point, but yall are right, i guess you would need thousands to keep up with orders...looks like i got a long way to go, but i will get there one day, just might take a couple of years or alot of money...lol....thanks guys for all the replies, but i would still like to see more numbers if you dont mind...thanks..

giving them lots of veggies and fruits is a sure way to boost the reproduction rate because they can get the necessary sugar they need by breaking down cell walls from plants and from fruits. All the female I've checked nearly all have oothicae. (sp) I've started with a little over a hundred, tiny, little nymphs last year and now have two sustainable colonies.

I'd like to know how many adults you need to start a colony for just one beardie. I'm going to get the starter kit from theroachguy.com that has 260 mixed with 2 adult pairs once he has them in stock. Do I need any more adult pairs?

I have 148 females and 29 males in my dubia colony. This is enough for my two beardies that I have. (One is a baby).

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
