How long should it take for a new dragon to eat?

I just bought my first dragon yesterday. I know it's normal for movement stress to keep them from eating. But I was wondering how long was too long. Right now I have some fruit gel in one bowl and a few can o' worms mixed with a few pellets in the other. They all came in a sample pack from the pet store. Will replace them with fresh fruits and veggies in the morning. Is it a good idea to buy crickets to try and entice my little dragon to eat? Or should I hold off until my little dragon is good and ready to eat? It's still a baby so I know how important eating is for it.

Live food is a must for bearded dragons. You can try dubia roaches, crickets, silkworms, and phoenix worms. At this age, greens isn't too big of a deal. Here is a great list of good/bad things for them to eat: http://www.beautifuldragons.com/Nutrition.html

I did end up going out for crickets and he ate two. Found out the bulb that came with the tank was no where near hot enough for how tall the tank is. I have a feeling he's a bit dehydrated but I gave him a bath this morning and misted him. He's thankfully really alert and doesn't seem worse for wear so far. I'll take him to the vet if he gets lethargic.

I agree live insects are best for baby dragons I have 2 and neither of them touch their veggies which I give daily but devour their dubias and crickets. I have tried black fly larvae but they don't eat them very well. One does eat baby horn worms but horn worms grow very quickly so is you try them don't buy very many. My dragons did take about about 2 weeks before eating much and a month before they got their full appetite. Now they don't stop eating. I did free feed dubias in a dish until they started eating well because they would eat a few here and there throughout the day.
