I have 1 lone good egg from a christmas clutch and it is just starting to collapse this evening. How long can I expect before it pokes its little head out?
The egg never grew in size this whole time. Maybe it's a dwarf..... :D I have eggs from clutches 3 weeks and 6 weeks after this one and they double the size already.

They range is size and viability the first season from what I see. Some eggs can get huge and not hatch, some little and hatch fine. Just be patient and wait to see what happens. I have seen an egg collapse, and nose break through, only to have the dragon never move again (dead) Most will hatch within 72 hours of each other. I have had 1 lag by a week and still hatch healthy.

Good Luck

OK but that still doesn't answer my question. When an egg first starts to collapse, how long is it usually for the head to break out (if it does of course)?

I'm wondering the same exact thing and funny thing is the one collapsing is our smaller egg that is not the prettiest little egg either. So I'm anxiously awaiting a reply to your post.
Good luck with your egg and please post what happens and I will do the same :)

it can take up to 24 hrs for it to hatch after you see it collapse if they have been in the incubator for the time needed unless its collapsing do to humidity low or dry substrate. :study: if you see it collapsing and the substrate is dry try getting it wet and bury the egg half way in the substrate. if it has been collapsed for more than a day it may not make it but i have had some that do.

Just checking to see if the egg hatched on your end. Nothing here and the humidity is the same as it has been for 8 weeks and the substrate is moist. The egg has some spots on it that are thin looking?!?! Just wanted to see if you had any action. Please let me know.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
