how long can a female store sperm?

my female just laid a clutch of eggs. she hasnt mated with any of my males but she did mate with the previous owners male and only laid one clutch. that was about 6 or seven months ago. could this clutch be fertile? im trying to get my incubator set up as i type this.(she kinda caught me off guard.) how long will eggs last if i leave them in the lay bow till tomorrow evening? if i keep the lay box warm will they be ok till tomorrow?

she just came out of brumation about 3 weeks or so ago...

so my question is....could she have stored the sperm from the previous male even through brumation? or should i just assume that these eggs are sterile....?(they look very large and white.)

She can retain sperm for up to 1 year. If you leave them in the lay box and keep them moist and warm they should be ok. The longer you leave them the worse your chances are though.

The Brumation could have triggered her body to create the eggs which is why you are seeing them now.

lol! yeah thats what i figured...i have them in an incubator now. she must have just saved it for later. she only laid one clutch for the previous owner so i guess she had some left over! lol! i can see the pink dot on them...with the veiny structure inside. im assuming this means they are fertile. they are big and plump. she officially laid 28 eggs! there are a couple that look a little smaller...but at least 25 are looking very healthy.
