I'd have to say that I'm one of the lucky people - my girl Draiga has been attached to me since day one. When I picked her up from the store that first day she rode around on my hand just checking out the store while I picked up a few more things for her Viv. She then rode in the car for about an hour so I could bring her home - she rode on my shoulder, chest, neck and hand through out the ride. The only time she freaked out was when I wouldn't let her watch the traffic outside. Lol.

Since then she's spent countless hours curled up with me snuggling watching TV, watching my laptop, walking around outside, doing chores.. She's quite content to just spend time with me and seems to only have problems when I don't let her out with me! She's bearded at me a few times but has never actually put up a fuss or tried to run from me, chalk it up to temper tantrums. :D

that really is amazing, im so happy for you and your girl :D i think its great that beardies differ in personalities just like we humans do!

Ironic how after praising her for being such a calm and affectionate beardie - she continues on with the temper tantrum she's been throwing the past few days. I'd say they definitely have their off days like humans too!

I'm not looking forward to that whole puberty ordeal.. :banghead:

ugh, right there with you...after a couple days of great progress, spyke threw a tantrum on me too and seemed to hate my guts :? lol

I always put my beadie on the desk when I am using my computer. He will explore around the desk and just sit next to my computer. LOL. I'll pet his head and move him around the table. He will sometimes lick my finger. I think that's a way that he is saying Hi to me. If he is not in a good mood, he wouldn't lick my finger at all even I put my finger on his mouth.

I think you can play with your beardie as often as you can. Just make sure that the place where you play with your beadie is secure. They may accidentally fall off the table if there is no protection.

I have been doing a lot of reading on here as i am looking at getting beardies again. my experience goes against much of what i have read so perhaps i was just lucky but when i got my beardies: one small and one rescue from petco we handled them every day, they spent very little time in there tank while we were home. they came with us to the beach and burrow in the sand or go swimming in the lake, to the mall, outside while cooking; they sat on our laptops while playing games and slept with us many times. they each had a 20 gal tank with all the basics and they also had showers with us every morning where they would drink. they would NEVER drink standing water so it was natural they had to have showers. My beardies also slept together quite a lot, the female would lay on top of the male under blankets of leaves in there tank. I would say to handle them as much as you choose to so long as they get there proper D3, food, water, and sleep time. it was not uncommon for my other animals (dogs and cats) to sleep by the beardies, my cat was a very aggressive hunter outside but with our beardies she treated them like her pet.

maybe some of it is chance, maybe some of it is letting them grow up together, maybe other just dumb luck but i never ran into issues with mine getting over socialized. i suppose my only issue was that my x gf could not feed my female as she would bite her every time, but she was quite aggressive anyway when it came to hunting her prey. we always had our pets together and never had an issue with 3 dogs, a cat and 2 beardies.

I handled him immediately after I brought him home. I think I gave him a few hours to just chill in his enclosure but he was immediately comfortable in there so I felt like giving it a try. Last night when I put him back so I could go to bed he crawled right back into my hand. :)

I dropped him a few minutes ago so now I feel he hates me.

I've had Ziggy for 6 days. And from day 3 he loved us. He'd rather be snuggled in on our shirts or on his panda then left alone in his tank.

When I got home from work he started glass dancing for attention. I picked a good name; Romeo suits him. Such a lover!

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
