How is this independent starter kit?

This is from a local reptile specialty store. It's not pre-packaged, and from what I've read so far, I think it may have all the right things. It is a 10 gallon tank, however. The store owner said that it should last me about 8 mos for 1 beardie. I figure I could just use the tank for crickets later on. The price doesn't seem fantastic, but reasonable. The store seems to have themselves together, and I'd rather go independent than "big box".

Any thoughts or opinions? What else would I need to start for my first beardie? Thanks!

That tank will not last 8 months ,you will be lucky it it last 2 months . I would just get a larger one right away .

I was told to get a 20 gallon long from the pet store and Jim is already outgrowing it 2 months later , now I need to find a larger one .

Also the UVB coil bulb in the kit is not one that is recommended due to eye problems happening with the coil , the strip temp gauge is pretty useless too.

I would not buy this kit .

Terrible. Just buy the products you know you need. Don't waste your money on products that will end up in the trash and require you to spend even more money.

Okay great. I appreciate the replies.

I just read and heard that a large enclosure might make it difficult for a baby to catch crickets so you should start them with a smaller setup. So it's just a cash grab - fine enough (figures).

I will start him in a 40plus gallon then, and buy seperate accessories.

I believe you can section a 40 gallon and make it smaller. That will make it easier. Just buy everything separate. It is cheaper because starters don't have all of the correct stuff.

Feed in a separate container then.
It's a PITA letting crickets run around in the tank anyways. They hide and you can never get them out.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
