:p I only have one beardie and we have a ton of critters as it is and my husband would freak if I got another but man they are awesome! Those of you that have only one- how do you control yourself? I have a couple breeders bookmarked and I can't help but look over the handsome beardies every now and then with envy. (I got my beardie at Petco and was clueless at the time of breeders etc)

Tell me I'm not alone in my one beardie? Anyone else successfully exhibit self control?

ahh, you to suffer from mbs (multiple beardie syndrom)

I only have one, but thats due to money issues - i would rather give everything to one pet then have to make many others suffer. (im weird that way)
I have tons of other pets tho :)

Everytime i see a gorgeous beardie i turn and run in the other direction so i dont take it home with me!

Beardies take up a lot of space and can't be housed together. Thinking Beardie setup or my favorite chair really puts things in perspective. That and my fiancee would kill me if I brought any more critters home. He's shown the patience of a saint as I brought home the scaled critters, first a corn snake, then a ball python and then Charlie the beardie. He has conceded that when we are a little better established I can get a dog and we can move my shetland pony into the back yard and get him a goat companion, so really can't complain too much. 8)

I have two bearded dragons, as it did start out with one.

I am however at the limit for space and money (I also have a 4ft python, a betta fish, and 2 red eyed crocodile skinks. So that is a total of 3 75 gallon tanks, a 29 gallon tank, and a fish bowl in a 900 sq. ft. apartment!). I think that what holds me back is the space for another 75 gallon tank, the money that would have to be spent in feeding and caring for another, and the fact that I've already exceeded the pet limit for my apartment XD plus, my bf would kill me. So I am making the adult decision that, until I have my own official place and am comfortable with a new job and higher income, will consider getting another beardy or a dog =)

I am glad I only have one beardie, but with having a horse and barrel racing I don't have the time for another one. But I sure love my baby girl. I hate it when I have to put her in her viv, like today, I got the stink eye, but I had to go.

At first my husband got one and it planned on staying that way.
Then...we thought that we would get one possibly next spring. We planned on getting an adult around a year old (or a little over)
We went to a reptile expo on September 17th and started discussing what color beardie we would get 'When' we get one.
Well, let's just say that plan went out the window on November 5th, lol But it was not expected to happen that way. We went to another reptile expo on November 5th with the intention of getting ONLY feeders.
We started looking around and we came to a breeder we remembered from the September expo, and my husband asked to hold one of the older ones, which the oldest ones she had were between 4-6 months. She was (is) beautiful and asked the breeder what she was and she said the dragon was a citrus tiger/orange trans. We asked the price and when she said it...we knew there was not turning back. As my husband held her, she's such a sweet girl and sat so calmly. And we looked in those eyes. All of our plans fell out the window. Instead of waiting until spring, we got her now. Instead of getting an adult, we ended up getting one that was the same age as our male, Yoshi. After we thought it over for a few minutes, we went and got her right away and by the next day had everything she needed.
Just a word of advice, if you ever decide to go to a reptile show or need to go to the pet store to get supplies, do not get close enough to look in those beardie eyes, because they have some sort of power over us. lol

I only have one. I'm sad to say that its due to finances. I got around it by getting a gecko. :D She doesn't eat like Draco so not too much extra I have to buy to feed her and I don't have to upgrade her tank. But when I move Draco into his 40 gallon breeder when I purchase one, my gecko will inherit his 20 gallon long tank. She's in a 10 gallon right now but she's only about 3 months old and small. I also thought long and hard before I got her. I don't impulse buy. I also have a dog and a small fish tank and two betta's to look after so I am at my financial limit. I would love to have a roomful of beardies. I never thought I could love lizards the way I do. They have a way of getting and wrapping around your heart, don't they. I wouldn't trade Draco or Echo for 1 million dollars or any amount for that matter. Money can't by love in my books. A pets love is priceless and unconditional.

I need some help haha. I started with 1 now I have 3. Is their a cure for this syndrome? I'm sure I'll just get one more b/c I really want a yellow citrus tiger. Good thing I started a dubia colony to cut cost on food.

No cure, no magic pill, just willpower which I have absolutely none.

I really don't like spending money on animals. I don't mean for their care, there are the necessary costs of food and equipment, but there are so many animals in need of homes that when I start looking at reputable breeders I can't help but think that they all try very hard to make sure that the animals they produce go to the best homes possible and that their customers get good information about the care of their critters. I don't need to save any of those guys from happy healthy lives, but there are plenty of critters that deserve a second chance, and if one of those guys falls into my lap and I can afford the cost and the space, they can come home with me. I see so many beautiful, selectively bred beardies, corn snakes, etc and of course I want to take them all home, but so do other people and it is better for all of us if I let them go so that in the future I will have the space and means to help one in need.

I have only one beardie. But i also have 2 dogs, a few snakes, 2 human daughters... lol

I would have several beardies by now if it werent for us being hard up for cash right now. The month after My husband bought Cupid for me, I lost my job. then a few mos later my husband got laid off as well. He got a different job at the end of aug, but if we got another mouth to feed, the others we have would suffer. This is the only thing stopping me from getting another! Its soooo hard!!! :banghead:

Dudley is my one and only! :D

Honestly, I don't want more than one beardie right now. I also have a dog, a rabbit, a leopard gecko, 6 hermit crabs, and an African clawed frog... So I have plenty to keep up with!
I don't have the space for another huge cage right now (All of my pets are in my tiny bedroom, except for my dog), and I like having just one beardie to give my attention too. I feel like I can take better care of him that way. If I end up with another rescue, fine. But I wouldn't go out and purposefully buy one.
I'd really like to adopt a Blue Tongue Skink in the future though. They are pretty similar to beardies, and eat the same food. :D But other than that, I don't think I need any more pets right now LOL.

I've never had a issues with just having one dragon. I actually have 2 but the second one I was asked to take in because he needed a experienced home and he is a old guy who just wants a comfy place for his last years.
I don't care much for having two dragons. Its twice the $$ and twice the poop/baths/cleaning.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
