How do you set out your salads?

So far my Juv has only been interested in live feeders. Maybe its my salad presentation? I have tried dishes all over her tank. Tried it with no dishes...put it on top of her even...just sat there wondering why she was covered in green.

How does everyone set theirs out?

Don't worry too much if your beardie won't eat salads yet, they not really important till their between a year and 2 years old. Most babies and juveniles won't eat greens and veggies, their like kids in that form Just keep offering your beardie the salad and he/she will come around.

When I put my salad in it always consists of greens, some times lettuce (just as a treat now and then as it has no nutritional value), always collard greens and in the summer dandelion greens as well. On top of my greens is a veggie, either carrots or apples, then the fruit which varies from time to time between turnip, blue berries, strawberries and others.

Try putting it in the morning, and leaving it till the evening. Our Bindy doesn't like his salad till it has dried out, so he will eat it after he has has his evening crickets. Then you here crunch crunch crunch. But at least he eats them right? Give that a shot

I put mustard, dandelion, turnip, or collard greens in his bowl and then a couple beardie bites along with a random shredded carrot, apple, or squash. He has yet to eat from his bowl but 2-3 times a day I put a couple of pieces of the above (one at a time) in front of him and wiggle it with my nail a little. He will eat 4-5 pieces at a time when I do this. I am hoping that he will start going to his bowl soon but he is still very young and I am just glad he is eating some of it.

Yeah, my Oscar will eat all the collard greens in the world, but he hates beardie bites and butternut squash, which is weird because most beardies love butternut squash. I'm going to try apples and see if he likes it. I will also try dandelion greens. We checked Food World, Piggly Wiggly, and a couple of other stores, but none of them have dandelion greens. Any suggestions on where to get them? Does Publix or Wal-Mart have them?

dandelion greens can be seasonal depending on where you live. Get mine at Shop Rite or Stop & Shop, but they do not always have them. Never have seen them at walmart

Try putting his favorite worm or live feed IN the salad. Thats how I weaned my male into salads when he was a baby

They also make "baby" beardie bites now. They are cut into even smaller little pieces. My beardie girl's favorite food! I ran out of them once and I swear she had a sad face and when I got my new supply she ran to the dish and ate and she had a beardie happy face

Yeah, the juvenile beardie bites are what i feed oscar because they are very small, about the size of the tip of a pen and Oscar is only 2 months old . He hates them, though. :bleick:

Well, our beautiful dragons are like people in a lot of ways. Like and disliking different foods. My girl loves them, but I am sure there are plenty of our beauties that don't.
