Hi, I recently bought my bearded a new basking spot and I am wondering how I clean it he just pooped on it and I was able to wipe away most of it but their is still some left. could I just run it under water or would that cause the wood to rot? Thank you for your advice!

It's always a bummer when that happens. I keep several extra logs around at all times. When a basking log needs cleaned I take a 5 gallon bucket or a tall plastic tote + put enough hot soapy water and red wine vinegar water to cover at least half of the log. I keep a specific scrub brush to scrub it and then rinse with hot water. All done either outside or in my basement. Then I pat it dry and either keep it out in the sun if there are 2-3 hot days in a row or I bake in the oven for 2 hours at 225-250 F.

Are we talking smooth log or barked?

Smooth logs are IMO pretty easy. Scrub the area with an old beardie-dedicated toothbrush or a scrubbie to remove debris, then spray w/ Nature's Miracle for Stinky Dragons. Let it sit for 5 min. to kill any odors. Sometimes I treat w/ 90+% isopropyl to kill any nasties (before using the NM) but let it dry/evaporate completely first.

I haven't figured out a system for dealing with bark (e.g. cork rounds) yet, but I spoze I will first time he soils it.

Technically, water is a chemical, but I get what you mean. NM has some, but it works primarily by enzymes, and once it's dry--no problems. Same with alcohol; once it evaporates, it's gone.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
