Hi, I'm new here and new to owning beardie's (my daughter bought one and left it with me when she moved out) I just wanted to know if its possible to get a rough age of my dragon going by his size? he's 17 inches from snout to the end of his tail (full tail), if anyone could give me an idea of how old he is i'd be very grateful, and also is it normal that he only poops around once every 10-14 days and that its quite large and very smelly when he does? he seems otherwise well and is eating just fine. thanks guys x

Morning GG,
Its almost impossible to guess age by size. I have sold babys that are now 20 inches and over 600 grams at 7 to 8 months old. Theres the other side of the coin that has them smaller. If you have any idea how long your daughter had the pooper and what size He was when she got him We could probably guess better.

As to the pooping ever 10 to 14 days we need to fix that.
This can be caused by any number of husbandry issues.
I would start by checking temps and diet. I would also start giving Him warm baths 2 to 3 times a week.
There is a great care sheet on this site and I have one of My own on My site.

Welcome to your new addiction!!
And let Me be the 1st of many to let you know we love pictures on this forum....lol

Well my daughter only had poor "poopie" for 2 weeks, her boyfriend had bought him from a friend and have no idea how long he had him for, I've only had him a month and am still getting to grips with its all, just difficult because I dont know whats normal for HIM having not been told any of his history, so no idea of what he prefers to eat etc etc, she also left me looking after her baby corn snake but it escaped a month ago and I still haven't found her, she was really small so could be anywhere in the building (I live in a flat). So not having great success with reptiles so far lol. Am going to have a good fiddle with this website now and try to figure out how to upload pics etc :D

Good news, have found out that "Gibby" is 18 months old, am really pleased he's not the old man I thought he was as it means he'll be around for a long time yet, just assumed he was old as he's such a big boy lol :D

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
