How do people respond to your dragon?

I had to make a last minute cricket run tonight since my store was completely out of them today and I have to feed Chester before work tomorrow. He was just sleeping on me so I asked my mom to give me a ride so I could bring him along. My ferret Zen threw a fit so into the carrier he went and myself, my mother, my beardie, and my ferret all headed to the store. For one, the guy working has a beardie too and gave me 20 crickets for free. Two, I've never seen so many people confused in my life. Apparently it's not normal to have a ferret on a leash and a dragon on your shoulder... Chester woke up and just looked at everything and stayed where I put him, and Zen ran laps for a solid 20 minutes and scared a 4 month old French bulldog trying to play with it. Do you guys get more positive or negative feedback taking your beardies out in public? I actually had more people wanting to hold Chester than Zen, and that was suprising, cause my ferrets usually steal the show and I thought people would be more freaked out than they were by a lizard just chilling there.

Last Thursday, my husband went with me to the college where I work, he went with both our girls to watch the Redhouse Dancers. They do some Navajo dances and are really fun to watch. Bill seems to get more attention when our girls are with him than when he's by himself, or with me and them at home.

Khan is fondly called "the most colorful dragon ever" at the local petco when I take him to get crickets. I think it's cute, but I tell them not to compliment too much as it will make his ego skyrocket.

I work at Lowe's and bring Gatsby and Indie with me sometimes. I work in a part of town that's mostly just all old people, so it was my first thought that the feedback from them was going to be godawful. But surprisingly, almost ALL of the old ladies that come in are absolutely in love with them. :) It's the old men that are squimish and won't touch them. It's glorious.

I just get the whole`iguana` thing....
I try and get Nu if someone rings the door bell
The reactions are legendary!
Some guy selling stuff came, and i was about to give nu a bath..
I opened the door and he nearly fell over,
He kept asking me all these questions, and left without even trying to sell me anything...
Thats what beardies are great for!.... distracting people

the night Amigo came home we had to make a run to the petsmart to pick up some thing for him since we had given all his things to Ash and Cadmus. So while we are there, there was this couple from India and she was fascinated with Amigo. Her husband was buying birds and she just walked off and left him to come over and ask questions about Amigo. Eventually she asked could she pet him. She was scared at first but finally did it and was really happy with herself when she did. Her husband never did get the nerve to come over and touch him. We thought it was funny.

I think it turns out that men are sissies. Obviously not the guys on the forum, but all the rest! :p

I had to stop at the drug store the other day on my way back from my beardie's vet appointment to pick up a few things. Since it was blistering hot out, and I didn't want to leave my beardie in the car, I took him in with me. He was really good, he just sat in the crook of my arm while I got what I needed. When I got to the till, I had to set him down to open my wallet. This was met with an ear-plitting shriek from the cashier, followed by general chaos throughout the checkout area. Long story short, the cashier managed to calm down enough to collect the money, and I quickly left through a gauntlet of dirty looks.

I guess I forget sometimes that herpetophobia is a pretty common condition!

I work in a vet clinic and have always loved bearded dragons, so when we had the opportunity to adopt one from a man my husband works with I was ecstatic. My hubby was a little apprehensive about having a reptile in the house. When I asked him what his main concern was, he said he was afraid it was going to eat him... But now he loves him. He was worried he was going to be slimy at first, but now will walk around with him on his shoulder.
One of my friends is terrified of him. I was surprised when she went into the room where we have our critters. She wouldn't get closer than about about 10 feet, but is improving. She offered to feed him when we are going on holidays. And I don't know if my mother in law will come to visit us again. She doesn't like reptiles...

All the people who have seen or held Sol absolutely love him. My grandparents even love him ,especially my grandfather. He just couldn't get enough of Sol. My boyfriends brother is always asking when I'm going to bring him over again, and that me and my bf should breed our beardies and that he should keep one of the babies.  I have to tell him continuously the answer is no. lol
My parents are fascinated with him, but my father is a little standoffish because he said Sol's head reminds him of a rattlesnakes. I haven't brought him into the public yet, save for a run into town, but I'll be prepared for the best/worst. (I would like to bring him into town again and actually go into a store with him, but now it would be a bit much since hes brumating and all.)

I Took Draco my beardie into town once this summer to get some ice cream with my mom ( none for poor draco of course, hehe) We where sitting outside on a picnic table, I had him in my lap while I had some ice cream and a little boy and his parents came to get some ice cream. I thought it was funny cause he had a rubber toy lizard and kept saying to his mom " A Lizard!" she though he was talking about his toy then she turned around and saw Draco and jumped, was quite funny :) But Draco got pats and some attention in the end and was very happy.

My mother-in-law used to be terrified of lizards. However, I think Spike won her over - he was injured a little while ago, and she brought over a heating pad so he would stay warm while he slept :D

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
