How do I introduce Veggies to my little baby?

My beardie Crunch is only about 3 weeks old now. I got him from a breeder (i know, this is very early to be giving away dragons that are 3 weeks but i did not know any better until i joined this site). Anyways, the first few days he was barely eating crickets, let alone veggies. Now, his appetite has gone up and is going to the washroom daily.

I have been giving him applesauce and going to try squash tomorrow as baby food. Crunch is offered finely cut up strawberries, carrots, and springmix in his dish daily. He knows it is there cause the little guy walks all over it! I try feeding him with tongs but he isnt interested in it. Should i keep offering it to him and give him baby food veggies/fruit untill he starts?

I keep reading on this site peoples babies are eating their greens... but mine isnt

Hello,

Unfortunately, the little boogers don't always take to veggies right away. Do keep offering them daily and eventually he will start eating them. Some people put the veggies in their beardies viv first before offering live feeders.

You don't need to feed baby food. As for the veggies...the dark leafy greens like mustard or collard greens are the best veg staple due to the amount of vitamins and nutrients in them. I'm not sure about the springmix...is that lettuces? If so, lettuce really doesn't have much nutritional value for your little guy. Just cut the pieces really small, like shredding them. Keep some in the viv at all times. Hopefully, eventually, he will eat some. Maybe you could put a little baby food on top of them, if he is used to getting some of that. Also if you could drop a few crickets on top when he is near. He may accidentally eat some and realize he likes them.
