how common is it for females to lay infertile eggs?

Hi guys...

I have recently ordered a Bearded Dragon from Where Dragons Dwell, she will be delivered to me from Hamm show next week, I can't wait!!!

I already have 2 males but have never had a female, so I am curious as to how common it is for females to lay infertile eggs? I am not a breeder, she will be a pet only! Do all females lay eggs even if they have ever been bred? From what age can they lay eggs?

Its very common for a female to lay infertile eggs, especially if they are in close proximity to a male. They can start 8 months but generally, they will be older. You'll have to learn what sign to look out for.

She will not be able to see any of my male beardies but whether or not she will be able to sense they are there i dont know!?

So if she has eggs will I be able to tell, will she get fatter!?

Yes, when a female produces eggs you should be able to tell. She may even start pacing or digging at the enclosure. Do the same thing as if you were going to breed her, provide her with a lay box. Once she lays the eggs, you can just throw them out.

I have this problem right now with my 10 month old beardie. She has beemn acting strange and she has lumps in her abdomin. the vet says she has infertile eggs. What should i do so she lays them or will she do that on her own

She will sense them, even if she can't see them and the males will know she is there too. Be prepared for macho males and all the fun that brings

As long as you provide them with an adequate lay box, they will do it on their own. There are a couple posts in the breeding section about layboxes I believe.
