Hmm. I never really looked at it that way. You may have changed my mind on the matter. I've always been told that chain pet store animals are all sick and to not buy them. You've made me want to go get them all
There are definitely a few members on this board that got sick dragons from pet chains and had to be treated, or otherwise died. It's hard to tell when they may have a virus going on, but if caught within I'd guess the first month or so, you can always return
the dragon, or insist they pay for the medical bills to treat them. There are members that had Petsmart/Petco pay the vet bills for treatment.
From my experience, the dragons I've seen are often healthy, and honestly if there are sick ones in there it's often the breeder's fault, not the store. Just watch the dragons and look for one super happy and healthy. If there's a lethargic and sickly one in with them, I'd first call the attention of this to the store manager, and honestly be reluctant to take any of them, unless getting confirmation from the pet store that they will back their "product" if vet treatment is required.
The way I see it though is those dragons are there, are going to be sold like hotcakes, and will often not get the love and care they deserve, so I'd love to do it.
I'd love to go take all of them home and take care of them all, but I do not have the space, money, or time for 20 dragons
though the thought is amazing.
