How best to prep veggies

So I just came back from the grocery store with fresh bell peppers, a butternut squash (whole), and three cactus leaves. How should I prepare these three so they are easiest for my Mizu to munch down. Especially the cactus as I don't know if he can eat the outer skin fine or I need to peel it?

i would for sure chop them up small, to the length between your dragons eyes. dragons love variety, you can mix a little here and there. and about the cactus. i have never served my dragons cactus. i would assume the skin gets peeled off. :)

I'd just chop it up into bite sized pieces as mentioned. I tear up greens and remove the big stems and cut squash into small worm shapes. I'm not sure about the cactus, I haven't offered that before.

hard veg : grate them with the grating blade in the food processor (great for making in bulk to freeze in icecube maker trays) , or use a microplane (med or course) to do smaller batches.

green beans and pea, chop in the food processor.

green leafies - kitchen scissors to chop up roughly.

Scrub the needles off the cactus leaves and chop it. It is slimey and gross IMO and Pepper didn't care for it so I only got it a couple times.

Thanks for the advice. I started feeding him butternut squash cut up into slivers but this morning his poop was bright sqaushy orange. Is that a good sign or does it mean his body is unhappy with digesting the squash?

Sometimes the food they eat changes the color of their poop. It's pretty common and not a big deal. Just offer a nice variety.

If the pop was well formed and otherwise normal it's just from the color of the food. Loose/runny poo would be a sigh his stomach doesn't agree

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
