I’ve seen a bunch of stuff about not using sand I was just wondering if I should switch to tiles. Snog my bearded dragon is about 8 months old and I use sand but she never eats it or anything other than the occasional lick. Snog loves to dig around too I was just wondering if there’s any real concern I should have for using sand especially because snog doesn’t eat it.

I would switch to something solid. Tile or maybe non adhesive shelf liner. The sand is a pain to clean and it's very tough to keep sanitary vs a solid substrate that is easy to sanitize and clean. Tile can be quite hard. I use tile and wound up putting fleece down over half to provide some relief to the hands and feet. That will vary though.

I concur …. best to not use sand , if you must use sand , then dried screened play sand is better than beach sand and commercial terrarium sands.

I would advise against it. Not only does sand have the risk of causing impaction, but it is harder to sterilize, and can harbor bad bacteria.

Yeah, IMO It really really isn't worth the risk at all. Here's one of my older posts That states most of the facts why NOT to use sand or most particle substrates: viewtopic.php?f=34&t=243890&hilit=sand#p1857889

Hope it was informative! :)

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
