Okay, first off I had no idea these things grew so freakin fast. They tripled in size and have eaten all their food in six days. I still have five worms left and they have basically no food.
Anyway, now that I know this and I know how much my dragon loves them (I don't think I've ever seen him go so nuts for a bug when he spots it), I'm debating on buying them every once in a while. However, my biggest problem with them is how hard it is to pry them off the little wire grid they hold onto. Is there a different way to keep them? Or some kind of technique for removing them from the thing they're holding onto so I don't rip them up and they don't have time to swing around and bite me? EEEEEEVIL.
Second question is, how many of these things should I feed my dragon? He's about 8-9 months old, 21" long, and eats A LOT. The guy I bought the hornworms from at an expo had an informational sign up saying one large hornworm is equal to 36 crickets by weight. Well today my dragon ate three large hornworms, one small hornworm, ten superworms, and a dubia in one sitting. He would probably eat more if I gave it to him. At what point does the "as much as he can eat in 10-15 minutes" rule stop being the golden rule for dragon feeding?
