Hives

So the other night I was handling my bearded dragon, she’s about 9-10 months old. And I put her away for the night and fed her an all. I went and laid down in my bed and started scratching my arm. Not even thinking, I just kept scratching it. My mom noticed and came and looked at it and I had hives all over my arm. It was kind of hard to tell cause my arm was so red from scratching it. I put some cortizone 10 on it, but it didn’t help. I have no idea what the hives could have come from other than my beardie. She was in mid shed so I didn’t fret. But then it happened the next night too. I cleaned her and cage deeply and gave her a bath as well. But I’m still breaking out in hives.

You might be allergic to the dubia roaches.

That's much more common than being allergic to the lizard itself.

Unless there are some other items in the tank that you could be allergic to, my money would be on the roaches.

Its possible your having a reaction to the dubias --- I have heard this - how many do you have left of the dubias? Are they in your room? If so I would move them to another room and see if that helps I know some others were asking about that a while back but I am cant remember what was advised on that one -- here is some info I dont know if your breeding or not
Some people can develop an allergy to dubia roaches or their frass (droppings) with too much handling and constant contact. This is more likely to occur if you are breeding roaches, since it will dramatically increase the intensity of contact.
Please be aware that some people can develop allergies to Dubia roaches without proper airflow and ventilation. This can happen without warning and seems to increase with more exposure to their frass (excrement). This is more likely to occur if you are breeding roacheswithout proper ventilation, since it will dramatically increase the intensity of contact. The best way to avoid developing an allergy is to handle your Dubia roaches in a well-ventilated room, and wear gloves and a mask if possible.
Here is some info for you on this

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
