High Terrarium

Hello there, I adopted another bearded dragon yesterday. He came with a Exo Terra tank which is 900 wide, 450 deep and 900 high! Not sure why the last owners chose such a high tank but that's what he has got. The lid was also changed to a plywood one which has no air circulation. I guess that was done to keep the heat in. The UVB light is mounted right on the top, so I guess that needs to come down a bit. My question is, has anyone got a high tank for their beardies and how can you use the space best and still make everything work?

Invest in a T5 fixture with a reflector for UVB and find some nice branches for climbing. The dragon will do the rest as far as regulating his exposure/temp. How are the heat lights setup? Do you have a picture?

Dragons are semiarboreal and can be pretty good climbers with practice. My enclosure is 4' (1200mm) tall and it works out great.

Hi, I dont have a lot of experinces with bearded dragons but i can confirm they can climb really well. Just look at him

I have pictures on my phone but have trouble uploading them. The UVB is a tube in a lighthouse, so I can mound that anywhere and I got a 100w heat lamp with a cage. It came with ceramic heatlamp but I replaced that with a normal bulb . Ok also got a number of wood pieces and other decorations which came with him but nothing is high enough. Thanks for sharing those photos, it will definitely give me some ideas.
