Houston, we have poop.

Very runny. Looks kinda undigested. Hutch is much less bloated. I suppose the runniness is due to the diuretic.

Ohhhh boy, well hopefully that will make her feel better. I wonder if maybe the dairy type pro-b contributed to the looseness. I know when pro-b's were suggested to me, I was told to get soy yogurt. That would be non-dairy. I just got the Bene-bac gel for birds and reptiles at a local Petco, however, I haven't seen it in any of the stores lately. I'm all out of the stuff that I got from the vet so I was looking to get more. The stuff the vet gave me was also Bene-bac, but it had more types of bacteria in it than the store-bought version. Tracie has a site that carries different types of pro-b's, maybe you could order something there? Here's her site:

Did the vet say she is in congestive heart failure??? Isn't that what furosemide is for or is it just to treat the bloating? :(

Hutch does not have congestive heart failure, and her kidneys are fine. I think shes just really fat from me force feeding her food for so many months along with her antibiotics so they would not upset an empty tummy. The area on her body behind her front legs was full and pudgy with water. Today they are empty of water and flat weblike skin. Don't know why she was retaining so much water.
I agree that the pro b with dairy is likely the cause of the cowpie. Ill check out the site you suggested for pro bs. Im not gonna feed her today and let her insides settle down. Not sure to give the diuretic on an empty tummy, so Ill skip it t
onight till I find out if it upsets empty tummies. Giving her lots of water, but shes not swallowing too well today.

Good to hear it's not her heart or kidneys! WHEW! Perhaps giving her a soak would be better than giving her the water by mouth. I would think if she was thirsty, she would drink from her bath. If she's not swallowing it, maybe she's just not thirsty and doesn't want it? Dino sometimes goes more than a week without drinking anything. That tells me she's plenty hydrated from her food and her soaks. Just a thought to make it easier on both of you.

Yeah soaking might be easier. Vet said to hydrate her more on the diuretic since it flushes out water. She enjoys the cuddling session following baths. They all liked cuddle time in the towel in my arms. I found a picture of Hutches mom Sunny during after bath cuddle time when she was still a juvie. So cute.

Sorry to hear about your poor dragons ive read your full post and the high blood suger. I just thought i should add that i have a dragon with liver disease due to antibiotics.

I was advised by my vet to make sure his stomach was full each day to keep liver working and you might be interested to know that i was told to avoid all man made products like adult/juvenile bearded dragon food because of the high suger levels not stated on the packets as its really bad for there livers i dont feed anything un natural, I found my self reading with interest i didnt think in anyway your problem would relate to mine but in a sense it does. Spike and Drache both know about my dragon with liver disease

I hope this information is usefull to you and your problems

Fellowd,
That is very interesting. Their father, Twister died of liver failure at age 7. I fed and housed them all the same way. What do you feed then? Any protien? All veggies?
Hutch still has cowpie poop, not sure why.....or what to do about it.
Thanks for the info.

The orange spots are getting bigger, causing the spikes to dry up and turn black. It seems to be spreading, totalling three spots now.

I don't like those spots.... Very suspicious looking. :| Could be a number of things. If Hutch has been on antibiotics for a really long time, it could be a reaction to them. I don't even wanna go here BUT, some of Dino's yellow fungus lesions started with little pink spots that rose out and seperated her scales and became a visible raised pink bump... I would bring those to the vet's attention ASAP. It could just be my own paranoia from dealing with the YF for so long too... I hope it's nothing. I would hate to see poor Hutch have anything else on top of what you're already dealing with. Here's a pic of a start of a lesion: Hutch's do look different from this though:

Hutch had the larger spot while on antibiotics. She developed the other two after going off them. Whatever it is it is not a normal color and is clearly damaging the scales. I emailed the pics to the vet and he said to try topical antibiiotcs first, and that systemic antibiotics could help if that doesnt work. Also could be heat damage, or fungus. I have some triple antibiotic from Fuzzy's procedure Ill put on tonight, then three times a day. I have never seen a burn look so bright orange and continue to grow. I personally think its a fungus since in nature a fungus will be often bright orange or yellow. Fuzzy had some yellow crust on his tail that would not shed without antibiotic to encourage it.
What treatment is used for fungus?

Well, if it's not systemic, a topical, over-the-counter antifungal cream can be used on the spots, like Lamisil. I've seen people use that with success. If it's systemic, antifungal oral meds would be needed. There are a few different ones. I've seen Intraconazole prescribed most, from threads that I've been on. It is cycled on for 7 to 10 days then off. It can be harsh on the beardies system. Dino was on that, didn't work, so she's been on Voriconazole. It seems to be less harsh than the IC as she can take it continuously with no side effects (so far anyway). She's been on it since August.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
