Hello All. My adult beardie always is hiding...my boyfriend really hates this b/c he thinks he is sick. So I thought I would post and ask. I did search but could not find anything similar to our situation.

Blaze hides in his log. He will stay out after feeding and when we pull him out of his hiding spot. But we always go back upstairs and he is under his log....on top of the log is his basking spot. (which isnt the best temp right now 80-88) On Saturday I am changing his viv around 100% which will help with his temps. But does anybody no why he would be hiding a lot. Also in the last couple of weeks he hasnt touched much greens and he used to eat them like a champ...but he has always been a anti social dragon. (rescued) Doesnt hesitate with crickets or worms but greens not so much :p

Thanks for all your help :)

what are you using for UVB? if its one of the coil types or the reptiglo 10s maybe the light is harsh on his eyes and he is trying to hide out, this may be far fetched, if you have proper lights then i couldnt tell you sorry, maybe you should make it so he cant get under there for a while, if he is spending most of his time in there and not getting the heat and uvb that he needs that could be a problem, just my $.02 tho, good luck, wait for others they may have other ideas and options for ya

Thanks! I do have the proper lighting for him. I will try and remove the hiding space, see how that works :)

We took his hiding spot out; he is basking more and ate some greens yesterday. So we have a bit of an improvement! Thanks for asking\

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
