Hi, so im new to this whole thing, i just got my first beardie about a week ago. I think shes abput 6 weeks old from the posts/pics ive seen and read from on here. My set up is the 20gal zoo med repti kit with sand. Im going to switch out the sand once i clean the tank. Any suggestions and tips would be great, thanks

Hi!

You may want to move up to a 40 or 50g within a month or so. Beardies do grow quickly!
What are your lights? (Brand times, ect,) also, is your ubv a coil, tube of bulb? I see you have a red light, is it for basking? If it is, you need to get rid of it and get a bright white basking bulb, you can use a regular house bulb. (Not a coil.) What are your temps and how do you measure them? What are you replacing the sand with? Also, what and when do you feed her?

This is what is listed at the kit from zoo meds http://www.zoomed.com/db/products/EntryDetail.php?EntryID=344&DatabaseID=2&SearchID=1.. and i plan on changing the base to tile slate or ceramic. For temps its around 95 at the base which is read from the temp strip that came with the kit. I posted in the feeding section about what i feed him, hes super picky.

You need to get rid of the coil. Get the ReptiSun 10.0 tube. also, you need to get some D3 calcuim powder. You also may want to raise the temps just a bit. Otherwise, all seems good!

I plan on changing the light out. He wont touch anything that has calcium or vitamin powder on it for some reason, im not sure why.
