I am a new member to this site, my boyfriend and I recently purchased some bearded dragons from local pet stores. This is our first time owning bearded dragons, however I have a 3 year old Leopard Gecko named Izzy. On September 3rd I was with my boyfriend when he purchased two baby 4" beardies from the local Petsmart for his birthday. He named one Thor and the other Anya, although she passed suddenly after we purchased her.
I recently purchased a Fancy "lemon-head" female beardie I named Sasha from a local friend-owned pet store. She is 2.5 years old and extremely lovable; she cuddled in my blankets the first night I had her, and loves to take warm baths in the sink. I have grown very close to her over the past couple days of having her, mostly because of her amazing attitude and lack of dander.
I grew up with my parents always owning dogs, and later we acquired outdoor cats. I have been allergic to things with fur since I was born, so it was always a struggle for me to give those animals the kind of attention they deserved.
When I was 19 I bought my first lizard, a leopard gecko named Izzy, and my love for the reptile world began. It was amazing that I could give all of my animal-loving emotions to something that wouldn't make me sneeze or make my eyes water. My parents, however, were not amused. While they could live with having one lizard in the house, who is only 5" long, they would not tolerate a 16" scaly "thing" living under their roof. So Sasha was made to live at my boyfriends parents house where baby beardie Thor was
Since buying our beardies it has been one adventure after the other, making food discoveries, and learning the what-to-do & what-not-to-do's. I hope to make many new friends here on this awesome site, and share my hopefully many funny stories about Sasha, Thor, and Izzy! Please feel free to message me anytime!
