HI, New Beardie Mom Here..

Hi, Figured Id introduce myself on here.. I just got my 1st beardie a week ago. Ive been all over this site and have learned soo much, lol. The guy at the pet store gave me a great deal on my new baby and enclosure, but did sell me the wrong lights and what not...that has since been fixed..and goodness ive made probably at least a dozen trips to pet smart (as thats the closest pet store to me, but not where i got my dragon) over this past week... I would upload some pics of my baby on here, but i dont know exactly how yall are adding pics, if someone would be so kind as to explain that to me, lol. And, what would be the best way to guess his/her age? He/she is about 5 1/2- 6 inches long atm...Also.. I had seen where ppl were using tile in the enclosures...and instead of using tile i went and bought vinyl flooring at lowes that looks like tile?? so it doesnt get at hot/cold as tile and its got that little bit of cushioning to it..is this ok? It seemed like a great idea to me, but if theres any risk to me using it Id like to know what it is cause i surely dont want anything to happen to my little one...

Welcome! Vynal flooring is fine! Tile is just a perspnal preference- i know alot of peole who use nonadhesive shelf liner.

its still too small yet to sex isnt it? i tried to look but didnt see anything so figured id wait a bit longer to be sure whether its a girl or boy ... Ive just been alternating saying he and she so far :lol:

just wait till he gets about 6 to 6 1/2 inches. it will be a bit hard at first but hopefully you should be able to see. i found that out today myself.

Yea I find him/her ADORABLE...but let me tell u, he/she is freaking spoiled rotten... Due to a last minute 'holy crap i dont have enough crickets for breakfast in the morning' and having to go to petsmart right b4 they closed at 9, by the time we got home it was lights out time for the dear dragon, well it wasnt having any of that (ive been getting her out b4 bed and bring her in the living room to chill and cuddle) So i turned off the lights and (s)he gets up on the hammock...standing on rear legs, frantically moving its front legs like its trying to get out! So im standing there spazzing thinking its gonna fall and get hurt and trying to tell it it needs to lie down its bed time (Meanwhile my husbands watching all this and laughing) I ended up having to get him/her out holding and petting her for a few minutes, wrapped her in a wash rag for a blanket, and then laying him/her back on the hammock (safely in the middle this time) and she goes right to sleep...SPOILED! Got up this morning and he/she is still wrapped up laying there... Ive created a monster..lmao.. well at least my husband finds me babying and freaking out over my dragon amusing :lol:

Weighed him today..(looked and it seems like hes a he..) gonna double check again tomorrow to be sure... but 6" long from nose to tip of tail and 10g...
